Welcome to CAMPUSO. These Terms of Use explain the rules for using our random campus chat service. By tapping Start chat or using CAMPUSO, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

CAMPUSO is an independent student project. It is not run by a college administration and is not an official college channel.

1. What CAMPUSO is

CAMPUSO lets people start a live text chat with another person who is also online. You can pick an interest tag (like Vibe, Sports, Music) to improve matching. Chats are meant to be casual campus conversations.

Features may include Start, Next, End, quick replies, and a typing indicator. Features can change as the project grows.

2. Eligibility

You should use CAMPUSO only if you are legally allowed to use online chat services where you live, and if your college or hostel rules allow it. If you are under the age required by local law, do not use the service.

3. Be respectful

You agree not to:

Harass, bully, threaten, or insult others
Share hate speech or discrimination
Send sexual content involving minors (illegal — zero tolerance)
Scam, phish, spam, or ask for money / OTP / passwords
Share illegal content or encourage illegal activity
Try to hack, overload, or break the service

You can leave any chat anytime with End or skip with Next.

4. You’re responsible for what you say

You are responsible for the messages you send. Do not share sensitive information such as:

Passwords, OTPs, bank or UPI details
Government IDs or full personal documents
Exact hostel room numbers or home addresses
Private photos of others without consent

If you choose to meet someone offline, that is entirely your decision and your risk. CAMPUSO does not arrange meetings and is not responsible for offline interactions.

5. How chat works

Messages are sent live to the person you are matched with. CAMPUSO does not keep a chat history for you to read later. A chat can end when:

You or the other person taps End
Someone taps Next
Someone closes the page or loses network

Matching is random among people who are waiting, with preference for the same interest tag when possible. You may be matched with the same person again after Next.

6. Safety

Strangers online can be unpredictable. Trust your instincts. If someone makes you uncomfortable, tap End immediately. Do not share personal contacts unless you are sure. CAMPUSO cannot guarantee that every user will follow these Terms.

7. Accounts & access

CAMPUSO currently does not require creating an account. Access depends on your device, browser, and network. College Wi‑Fi or mobile networks may block or slow the site — that is outside our control.

8. Intellectual property

The CAMPUSO name, logo, and site design belong to the project. You may not copy the brand to pretend you are CAMPUSO, or to run a scam.

9. Service availability

We provide CAMPUSO “as is.” It may be updated, limited, or stopped at any time without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted uptime, instant matching, or that you will always find someone online.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CAMPUSO and the people running this student project are not liable for damages arising from chats, matches, downtime, misuse by other users, or anything you choose to share. Use the service at your own risk.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms.
